Provider Relations Representative
Umpqua Health
Umpqua Health is seeking a service-driven and relationship-oriented Provider Relations Representative to support our provider network and drive excellence in care delivery. In this highly collaborative role, you will serve as a key liaison between Umpqua Health and our healthcare providers, ensuring provider needs are met, concerns are addressed, and standards are upheld across the system. Success in this role requires grit, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Provider Relations Representative, you will develop, implement, and deliver engaging provider training programs that promote high-quality, compliant care. You will act as a trusted point of contact for healthcare providers, responding to inquiries and resolving concerns promptly and professionally. Your role will involve capturing and analyzing provider feedback and complaints to drive service recovery and long-term satisfaction.
You will also design, distribute, and evaluate provider surveys to gather actionable insights and inform continuous improvement efforts. Collaboration with regulatory bodies such as the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) will be essential to support compliance and ensure providers meet all quality and performance standards. Additionally, you will track and report on key provider performance metrics to identify opportunities for strategic alignment and network enhancements.
Building and maintaining strong provider relationships through ongoing communication, support, and resource sharing is central to this role. You will work cross-functionally to advocate for improvements in provider experience, including training, communications, and operational workflows. Other duties may be assigned by management to support Umpqua Health’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field—or possess an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. A minimum of three years of experience in provider relations, healthcare administration, health plan operations, or a related field is required.
Candidates should have experience working with medical or hospital-based insurance plans and a solid understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build rapport and represent the organization professionally. The role demands a proven ability to resolve provider complaints and proactively identify service improvement opportunities.
Proficiency in data collection, survey analysis, and performance reporting is necessary to drive insights and support decision-making. The successful candidate will be highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and enthusiastic about collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivering a best-in-class provider experience.
