Umpqua Health is recruiting for an Education & Training Coordinator to lead the development and delivery of impactful learning programs that empower our workforce and support organizational excellence. In this role, you will drive the design and implementation of Umpqua Health University, lead the creation of certification and degree pathways, and ensure employees are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive. You’ll apply instructional design best practices, leverage emerging learning technologies, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver dynamic, engaging, and accessible training solutions. Your work will directly influence staff development, regulatory compliance, and organizational performance across all departments. 

Your Impact: 

  • Develop and lead Umpqua Health University, designing structured learning pathways and certification programs aligned with career growth, compliance standards, and organizational goals. 
  • Create and deploy interactive e-learning experiences using tools such as Rise360, Storyline, and Articulate, incorporating gamification, simulations, and adaptive learning strategies. 
  • Design comprehensive curricula and syllabi that blend instructor-led training, self-paced modules, workshops, and collaborative projects for learners across all levels. 
  • Manage and optimize our Learning Management System (Absorb LMS), ensuring seamless access, course organization, learner engagement, and robust reporting capabilities. 
  • Facilitate onboarding sessions, leadership development programs, and train-the-trainer initiatives to build internal capacity and support continuous learning. 
  • Analyze training outcomes through feedback, assessment data, and performance metrics to measure impact and continuously improve learning effectiveness. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure training content meets regulatory standards and reflects current best practices in healthcare and adult education. 
  • Integrate innovative tools such as AI-driven learning, microlearning content, virtual reality, and just-in-time training to enhance accessibility and relevance. 
  • Build partnerships with industry organizations and academic institutions to expand educational offerings and support credentialing for staff. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Umpqua Health’s Vision, Mission, and Organizational Values. 

Your Credentials: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, or a closely related field. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in instructional design, e-learning development, and curriculum creation in corporate or academic settings. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in using Rise360, Storyline, and Articulate to develop digital learning programs that are accessible, engaging, and outcomes-focused. 
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and competency-based education strategies. 
  • Experience designing structured certification or degree programs that support professional development and regulatory compliance. 
  • Proficiency in managing Learning Management Systems, with experience in Absorb LMS preferred. 
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage learners across virtual, hybrid, and in-person formats. 
  • Analytical mindset with a commitment to using data to evaluate and refine training programs. 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining high standards. 
  • Passion for innovation and a forward-thinking approach to professional education in a healthcare environment.
