Umpqua Health is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven, and clinically proficient Medical Provider to join our high-performing, patient-centered care team. In this essential role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive outpatient services that span both scheduled primary care visits and same-day urgent care needs. You will serve a diverse patient population, addressing acute conditions, chronic disease management, preventive health, and health education, ensuring each individual receives timely, high-quality, and personalized care.

Your Impact:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care across the lifespan, managing both acute presentations and chronic conditions in a hybrid urgent and primary care setting.
  • Conduct thorough health assessments, physical exams, and preventive screenings during scheduled visits and walk-in appointments.
  • Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of medical issues, including respiratory infections, lacerations, sprains, minor burns, GI issues, dermatological conditions, and chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing, including labs, imaging, urinalysis, and EKGs, with appropriate follow-up and documentation.
  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, I&D, joint injections, and splinting when indicated.
  • Prescribe medications, coordinate therapeutic interventions, and manage medication refills and adjustments based on evidence-based protocols.
  • Offer patient education, anticipatory guidance, and chronic care counseling to support long-term wellness and disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with internal care teams, care coordinators, and external specialists to ensure continuity of care, appropriate referrals, and timely follow-up.
  • Accurately and efficiently document all encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with organizational and compliance standards.
  • Participate in clinical protocol development, quality improvement initiatives, and team-based care planning to enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain clinical excellence, professionalism, and compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable state/federal regulations.

Your Credentials:

  • Graduate of an accredited program with one of the following degrees: MD, DO, NP, or PA.
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice in the United States; Oregon licensure (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire) required.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or a related specialty.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a combined primary care and/or urgent care setting strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in conducting physical exams, performing diagnostic evaluations, and managing both episodic and longitudinal care plans.
  • Strong procedural skills including wound care, suturing, splinting, joint injections, and management of minor office-based procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, asthma, hypertension) and health maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with EHR platforms, telehealth technologies, and cloud-based care coordination tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across diverse populations.
  • Committed to culturally competent care and serving underserved or rural communities with dignity and respect.
  • Not currently excluded, debarred, or suspended from federal healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare or Medicaid).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings or weekends to support patient access.
