Quality Metrics Specialist
Umpqua Health is recruiting for a Quality Metrics Specialist to lead innovative quality improvement initiatives that elevate healthcare outcomes and promote equity across our member population. In this role, you’ll collaborate across departments and with external partners to ensure regulatory compliance, enhance cultural competency, and drive continuous improvement efforts aligned with accreditation standards. Leveraging your expertise in data collection and analysis, you’ll play a key role in transforming performance metrics into meaningful action that supports organizational goals and improves the lives of those we serve.
Your Impact:
- Collect, validate, and maintain healthcare quality data in alignment with regulatory and accreditation requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across systems.
- Analyze performance trends and translate complex data into actionable insights that support programmatic and clinical decision-making.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and executive teams to design and implement data-driven quality improvement initiatives that address health disparities and improve patient outcomes.
- Monitor ongoing compliance with standards from entities such as CMS, NCQA, and the Joint Commission, ensuring timely responses to regulatory updates.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of quality improvement strategies, identifying areas for optimization and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Streamline internal processes related to data collection, reporting, and analytics to increase organizational efficiency and responsiveness.
- Provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to internal stakeholders on quality metrics, reporting tools, and evidence-based performance improvement strategies.
- Participate in quality committees, performance audits, and strategic planning efforts that align with Umpqua Health’s vision of equitable, high-quality care.

Your Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related or analytical field required; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare quality systems, regulatory compliance, and accreditation processes.
- Proven ability to independently manage and lead quality improvement initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Hands-on experience with quality system requirements, healthcare auditing, and data validation methodologies.
- Proficient in data analysis tools and electronic systems used for healthcare quality reporting; strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with a passion for improving health equity, reducing disparities, and supporting positive health outcomes.
- Must be available to work in-office, Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM PST.
